Our Work Philosophy

Women are the life-givers of children.

Our staff strive to provide culturally appropriate wrap-around nurturing care. We take pride in using Indigenous approaches and encourage physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Harmony House is committed to continuous learning to build our practice framework. This supports our anti-oppressive and inclusive skill set as we act to resist marginalization, oppression, and continued acts of colonization. This opens new pathways of practice that honours human rights and Indigenous sovereignty.

We highlight strengths, emphasize growth and development, and recognize resilience. We actively seek opportunities to reduce harm to mothers and their children by providing safe space, healthy food, life skills, and access to low barrier medical services.
